Mapplers: Hand-drawn map project

I am working on a GIS map of the Bird Sanctuary for work… which will have to eventually be opened up in illustrator to be rendered in a hand-drawn style. So, I have been lackadaisically searching for hand-drawn maps online (especially ones that look sort of like this one from the Memphis Zoo).

Anyway… it’s too bad the following website isn’t up yet – I don’t know if it would be a good resource, but it sure looks fun.

As you can see, it is integrated into Google maps and you can do some rudimentary zooming in and out. Very cool. Hopefully they get more submissions. It would be wonderful to see some submissions from children, too.
